When I started putting this site together, I wanted to give it an Australian theme... alas, Australian-themed Christmas graphics seemed impossible to find! Christmas here does not involve snow, or reindeer, or huddling around an open fire to avoid freezing your tootsies off outside. An Australian Christmas is more likely to involve jumping in the swimming pool, hudding under the ceiling fan, and praying for the temperature NOT to top 40 degrees Celsius [that's 104 F I think...]
But, regardless of the heat, many families still get together and enjoy a traditional-style English christmas dinner... call us mad, call us insane, call us whatever you like, but there is NOTHING that says Christmas like roasted turkey, chicken, spuds and plum pudding with hard sauce.I can remember many many christmasses where it was just too hot to eat... but we managed somehow! And then we crammed into the loungeroom [all thirty of us!] and exchanged presents in the lounge room... it was hot, it was sticky, it was at best semi-organised chaos... and it was Christmas.
Just thinking about it makes me smile.
Now, onto other things... I may not have found any Australian graphics, but I have tracked down some Australian Carols and Christmas songs.
